Milling Speed and Feed Calculator is a machining tool that simplifies the process of determining spindle speed and feed rate for milling operations.

Milling operations involve removing material by feeding a workpiece into a rotating cutting tool with sharp teeth, such as an end mill or face mill.

Factors such as workpiece and tool material selection are vital for specific cutting conditions since materials have rated surface speeds depending on the type of cutter used. Generally, the harder the material, the slower the speed.

The feed rate indicates how quickly the cutter engages with the part and is typically measured in units per minute.

Spindle speed refers to the rotational frequency of the machine's spindle, expressed in revolutions per minute (RPM). The ideal speed is calculated by working backwards from the desired surface speed (SFM or m/min), taking into account the diameter of the workpiece or cutter.
